Life of a tech support monkey..

I am a call centre monkey for a bank, doing software support. I've been doing tech support for about 3 and a half years with different companies. I've been at this company for almost 4 months.. and I'm located in Sydney, Australia. I think that's pretty much all you need to know. P.S Though names may be changed to protect the innocent, all these stories are true..

The one where the prodigal monkey returns pt2..

Hi again...

Yes, the tech support Monkey is back...
I am now posting from a different tree, but the view is the same,
the bananas are the same... and lusers are still lusers...

For some crazy reason, I thought by taking a new job where I support "corporate" customers, it would somehow be easier, that maybe people might know what they are doing, or at least be smart enough to read the goddam fricken manual..

Of course I was totally and utterly wrong... but it was nice to be full of hope and optimism for a week or two while I was in training...

But never fear... the feeling of "oh my boy just kill me now! why on earth am I still doing tech support! haven't I learnt my lesson yet!!" have returned... and they are comforting in that masochistic kind of way...

Cause we all know you can't be in tech support and be happy..

Life as we know it would cease to exist..

And as usual people still don't know their account numbers, they never have a pen and a piece of paper handy (I use to try telling them to open up notepad or a word document, but a lot of the time that took longer), they don't follow instructions, they don't believe what I'm telling them, they want to argue the system, etc etc etc all the usual hoopla..

And you want to know the scary thing? these people are dealing with large large (lotto winning type) sums of money... you think they'd want to pay some kind of attention to what I am telling them, and not clicking ahead and such.. but of course not..

Man, I wouldn't trust them with my lunch money... no, wait.. I wouldn't trust them with the change from my lunch money... : )
